Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL) has partnered with Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) to promote e-mobility in Kanpur.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ATEL and the Municipal Corporation specifies ATEL’s duty for establishing EV charging stations in 18 major Kanpur locations.

This collaboration follows the Municipal Corporation’s agreement with Tata Power EV Charging Solutions to deploy 12 electric car charging stations in six critical Kanpur locations.

The Uttar Pradesh Government’s broader plan involves the installation of EV charging stations in various municipal cities, heritage sites, tourism hotspots, and national and state parks, with the goal of improving the state’s EV charging infrastructure.

Recent initiatives, such as the agreement with EV charger manufacturer Servotech Power Systems Ltd., highlight the state’s commitment to growing the electric vehicle market, with a 144% increase in electric vehicle registrations in Uttar Pradesh over the last year, particularly in the three-wheeler segment.
