Acura has announced the donation of 75 all-electric ZDX performance SUVs to The Nature Conservancy (TNC), marking the largest vehicle donation in the brand’s history. The initiative aims to support TNC’s mission of transitioning to a cleaner, lower-emission fleet and advancing its critical conservation work nationwide.
The donation builds on a long-standing environmental partnership between Honda and TNC, spanning more than three decades. Alongside the vehicles, the Honda family of companies will contribute $1 million to fund charging infrastructure and support fleet operations. Acura dealers across the United States will deliver the ZDX SUVs, which will assist TNC teams in fieldwork, community outreach, and managing conservation projects in rural and remote areas.
Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales, said, “The Acura ZDX fleet will support The Nature Conservancy’s important fieldwork, enabling more efficient travel to conservation sites while reducing the environmental impact of transportation.”
Daniel Salzer, Director of Sustainability at TNC, expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting that it significantly accelerates the organisation’s fleet electrification efforts, reduces its carbon footprint, and demonstrates climate leadership.
The Acura ZDX, the brand’s first fully electric model, offers an EPA-estimated range of 313 miles.
Honda and TNC’s collaboration began with preserving Ohio’s Big Darby Creek watershed, one of the Midwest’s most biologically diverse aquatic systems. Over the years, Honda has donated land, funds, and resources to support conservation programmes across multiple states, contributing more than $1 million toward environmental protection.
This latest donation reinforces Honda and Acura’s commitment to sustainability and climate action, combining electric mobility with conservation impact on a national scale.
