The smallest and least expensive EV from Kia is already generating a lot of interest. In Kia’s growing EV portfolio, the EV2 will be positioned beneath the EV3. We got a better look at the impending electric SUV when the Kia EV2 was sighted on public roads as its formal introduction drew near.
Examine the Kia EV2 in greater detail as it is seen on public roads.
Kia claims that even though the EV2 will only be about 4,000 mm (157 inches) long, it won’t seem that little while you’re inside.
We were given a preview of the interior during Milan Design Week last month. Kia demonstrated the EV2 concept and gave us some fresh information at an exclusive event.
Similar to a porch or balcony, Kia intended the inside of the EV2 to be a tranquil haven from the bustle of the city. The SUV’s flat floor plan allows for adjustable seats. According to Kia, the EV2 provides an open area for stretching or “enjoying a meal” by folding the second-row seats and putting the front seats forward.
Like Kia’s more recent EVs, you may anticipate seeing its new ccNC panoramic infotainment system with dual 12.3′′ driver and navigator screens, even if no other data were provided.
We are getting a closer look at Kia’s next electric SUV after the EV2 was seen operating on public roads. A front-end design resembling that of the EV3, EV5, and EV9 is shown in the ShortsCar film, along with the brand’s recognisable vertical daytime running lights (DRLs) and Star Map lightning.
The EV2’s broad wheel arches and upright posture, which are reminiscent of the larger EV9, give it a surprisingly large appearance on the road despite its modest size.
This week, a production-ready EV2 was also sighted in Germany; it will soon make its European premiere. The model seen driving in Korea has a similar design to the pictures taken by SH Proshots (via TheKoreanCarBlog).
Early in 2026, Kia plans to introduce the EV2 in Europe and other areas. The EV2 is anticipated to arrive with a WLTP range of approximately 300 miles (483 km); however, precise specifications and prices will be disclosed closer to that time. Less range may be available at a lesser cost with smaller battery alternatives.
The EV2 is anticipated to be closer to 4,000 mm (157″) in length because it will be positioned beneath the EV3, which is 4,300 mm (169″).
It will be built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, which also serves as the foundation for Kia’s IONIQ series of electric cars.
Ho-Sung Song, the CEO of Kia, stated that the business intends to introduce the EV2 in the UK, with beginning prices of roughly £25,000 ($32,000). Plans might have changed because that was a few years ago. We’ll find out soon. Return soon for the most recent information.
