In the upcoming seven to nine months, a number of well-known companies, including TVS, Yamaha, and Suzuki, will launch their electric scooters in the Indian market.
In the upcoming seven to nine months, at least five new models will be introduced to the Indian electric scooter market. In the upcoming months, several well-known two-wheeler manufacturers, including Hero MotoCorp, TVS, and Ather Energy, will be ready to introduce their new e-scooters. It goes without saying that, in comparison to the prior fiscal year, the electric two-wheeler market experienced an unparalleled expansion in FY25. As a result, other well-known companies like Suzuki and Yamaha are also entering this market. The five new electric scooters that will be available in India by FY26 will be discussed in this article.
1. Suzuki e-Access
The first electric scooter made by a Japanese business for India made its premiere at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. In May 2025, the company started producing the e-Access in large quantities at its Gurgaon, Haryana, facility.
All-LED lighting, dual-tone colours, a front disc brake with CBS, a USB port for smartphone charging, a keyless system, a side stand interlock system, a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and weather alerts are some of the noteworthy features that will be included on board. It will be powered by a 3 kWh fixed LFP battery that can be fast-charged and has a 95 km range on a single charge.
2. Hero Vida VX2
On July 1, 2025, the Vida VX2 will eventually be released in India. Touted as Hero’s entry-level e-scooter and a cost-effective product, it will be available in two trim levels, Go and Plus, with basic amenities.
Several media sources state that 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh units with a minimum range of 100 km on a full charge will be available with the VX2, despite the lack of an official statement on the battery pack. The Hero Vida VX2 will be offered with a BaaS subscription, which will lower the scooter’s total cost.
3. TVS Orbiter
By October 2025, TVS plans to introduce a new, reasonably priced electric scooter to the domestic market that will sit beneath the iQube. When it costs less than Rs 1 lakh, it might be referred to as orbiter. The iQube’s base trim’s 2.2 kWh battery pack and the same Bosch-sourced hub-mounted electric motor may be included in the TVS Orbiter.
When the battery is fully charged, the e-scooter may have an 80-kilometre range. The future TVS electric scooter’s design, features, and technical specifications are not yet available to the general public. In the upcoming months, we anticipate additional information on the same.
4. Ather EL e-scooter
A new EL e-scooter platform will be unveiled by Ather Energy in August 2025, and other concepts based on the same platform will also be unveiled during the company’s yearly Community Day. Surprisingly, Ather Energy doesn’t have any models in the sub-Rs 1 lakh electric scooter market because all of its products, whether they are the 450 or the Rizta, are significantly more expensive than Rs 1 lakh.
As a result, a new base model priced under Rs 1 lakh is probably going to be released in the nation. Ather Stack 7.0, the brand’s most recent software, may make its debut on the next Ather electric scooter, which is built on the EL platform.
5. Yamaha RY01
It is being developed in collaboration with River, an EV startup based in Bengaluru, and is internally nicknamed RY01. It will be produced domestically at River’s facility in Bengaluru and will be modelled after the River Indie. The Yamaha RY01, the company’s first electric scooter for India, will be a high-end model with some features taken from the Indie, including a 4-kWh battery pack, 14-inch wheels, and a 6-inch fully coloured LED screen.
With a range of more than 100 km on a single charge, the RY01 might be released. Around 90 km/h could be the maximum speed. The Indian market is probably going to start selling it by early 2026.
