KTM has unveiled the 2027 Freeride E for the European market, focusing on improved usability for off-road enthusiasts. The electric off-road motorcycle aims to combine lightweight handling, low maintenance, and quiet operation, making it easier to ride and live with than conventional petrol-powered dirt bikes.
The 2027 model features:
- Power & Performance: 25.5 bhp peak power, 37 Nm torque, with three riding modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—and three energy regeneration levels. Top speed is 95 km/h.
- Battery & Range: 29 kg lithium-ion battery with 5.5 kWh capacity, offering 2–3 hours of off-road riding. Swap-able battery can charge fully in 8 hours with a 660W charger or 1.5 hours with a 3.3kW charger, and lasts over 1,000 cycles before dropping to 80% efficiency.
- Weight & Handling: Weighs 112 kg, lighter than the previous model, enhancing low-speed balance, off-road control, and ease for new riders.
- Chassis & Components: Chromium-molybdenum steel frame integrating motor and battery, WP XACT/XPLOR suspension, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium wheels, Braketec brakes, and Michelin Enduro Medium tyres.
KTM’s 2027 Freeride E positions itself as a practical, low-emission alternative for trail riding, leveraging Bajaj’s ownership for potential expansion into markets like India.
