Electric vehicles are steadily gaining traction in the Indian market, and over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a wave of new EV launches across segments. With improving infrastructure, better technology, and strong manufacturer interest, this momentum is only expected to grow. Below is a list of 13 electric vehicles that are likely to be launched in India in the near future.
Maruti eVitara
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, unveiled the eVitara almost a year ago. Production began by mid-2025, and we’ve already had a chance to drive the SUV in India. However, despite all this, the eVitara is yet to be officially launched.
Maruti’s first all-electric offering for India comes with two battery pack options. Unlike the international version, the India-spec model does not get a dual-motor setup. The eVitara is expected to deliver a real-world driving range of around 400–450 km. We expect Maruti to finally launch it sometime in 2026.
Toyota’s eVitara-based Electric SUV
Toyota recently unveiled its electric SUV based on the same platform as the Maruti eVitara. It shares similar technology, features, and driving range but comes with a distinct design and branding. Toyota is expected to launch this electric SUV in India later this year.
Tata Punch EV Facelift
Tata Motors recently introduced the Punch facelift, and its electric sibling is next in line for an update. The Punch EV facelift will feature revised exterior styling along with minor interior updates. Tata may also introduce additional features, including ADAS, with this update. The Punch EV facelift is expected to arrive later this year.
Tata Tiago EV Facelift
Tata’s entry-level electric hatchback is also set to receive a mid-cycle facelift. Test mules have already been spotted, hinting at minor cosmetic tweaks, feature additions, and a refreshed cabin layout. Mechanical components, including the battery and motor, are expected to remain unchanged.
Tata Sierra EV
Following the launch of the Sierra ICE earlier this year, Tata Motors is preparing to introduce the all-electric Sierra. The Sierra EV is expected to borrow its dual-motor setup and battery options from the Harrier EV. Design-wise, it will closely resemble the ICE version, with EV-specific elements such as a closed grille and revised bumpers.
Kia Syros EV
Kia is developing an electric version of its sub-4-metre Syros SUV. Although the ICE version hasn’t gained much popularity, the Syros EV has been under testing for quite some time. It is expected to retain a design similar to the ICE model and may come with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. A market launch is expected soon.
VinFast Limo Green
Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast entered the Indian market last year with the VF6 and VF7. The brand is now gearing up to launch its 7-seater electric MPV, the Limo Green. The model has been spotted testing multiple times and is expected to be introduced in the near future.
VinFast VF3
The VF3 is VinFast’s smallest electric vehicle and is likely to compete with models like the MG Comet. Featuring a quirky retro hatchback design, the VF3 is already on sale in several international markets. For India, it is expected to be offered with 29.6 kWh and 37.2 kWh battery packs, with a claimed range of up to 326 km.
VinFast VF5
Another VinFast model headed to India is the VF5. Positioned as a hatchback-SUV crossover, it will rival the Tata Tiago EV. The VF5 is expected to use the same battery options as the VF3, while its design will resemble larger VinFast EVs.
BYD Atto 2
BYD, known globally for its EVs and battery technology, is preparing to launch the Atto 2 in India. The mid-size electric SUV was spotted testing last year and features Atto 3-inspired styling. It will use BYD’s Blade Battery technology and is expected to come with either a 45.1 kWh or 51.1 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 410 km.
Mahindra XEV 9E (70 kWh)
At the time of the XEV 9S launch, Mahindra confirmed a new 70 kWh battery pack that would sit between the existing 59 kWh and 79 kWh options. This battery is now expected to be introduced in the XEV 9E as well. It produces 242 BHP and 380 Nm of torque and claims a driving range of up to 600 km.
Mahindra BE 6 (70 kWh)
The Mahindra BE 6 is also expected to receive the same 70 kWh battery pack. Power and torque figures are likely to be identical to the XEV 9E, along with a similar claimed range. The addition of this new battery option will allow Mahindra to offer more flexibility and choice as competition in the EV space intensifies.
